Questions societies ask us

Do flat owners need to download an app from Play Store?

No. FlatFly is a PWA — owners open the link, log in with their mobile number and tap “Install”. It sits on the home screen like any app, works on Android & iPhone, and takes almost no space.

Can different flats have different maintenance amounts?

Yes. Each flat has its own monthly maintenance (e.g. Flat 1 ₹500, Flat 2 ₹700). You can also add one-time charges like a painting fund to all or selected flats.

What if an owner pays only part of the due?

Totally fine. The owner can pay any amount; the remaining due is carried forward automatically and added to next month's total payable.

How does payment confirmation work?

When an owner taps Pay (optionally via UPI with the UTR / screenshot), it shows as “Pending Confirmation”. The in-charge confirms it with one tap and it becomes “Paid”. For cash, the in-charge uses “Paid + Confirm” directly.

Can someone delete entries to hide money?

No financial entry is ever permanently erased. Deleting marks it “Cancelled” with a mandatory reason, and the audit log records who did it, when and from which device.

Can more than one person manage the society?

Yes — add a Secretary, Treasurer, Caretaker or Committee members and tick exactly what each can do (e.g. caretaker can collect payments but not delete expenses).

How do we pay for FlatFly?

₹20 per flat per month, paid online securely (UPI / cards / netbanking) from the Settings page for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. The first 30 days are free.
